SUZAN DONOVAN

Recording Secretary

Moved here in 2012 to help take care of my mother. Was a member of GFWC in Laurel, MD before moving back to PA.  Joined the Mechanicsburg club for a few years before I made my way to UAWC. Took a few years off while my mother was sick and during COVID.

Married in 2007 to my husband Kevin and have two bonus daughters and two grandsons, Carson and Colton.  Sadly, they live in NC and we don't get to spend much time with them. Worked for Ritz Camera for 27 years before they closed for good in 2012 and have been with Schneider National Trucking as a driver manager/dispatcher since. Ready to retire in 6 years, 4 months, 2 weeks, and 3 days.

Have a yellow lab named Wrigley that I work to support, and my late mother’s cat, Katniss, who thinks she is a dog too!

In my spare time I volunteer with Operation Wildcat, Friends of the Library book sales, and regularly with Highmark Caring Place, a wonderful organization that helps families with children cope with the loss of a loved one.  I regularly scope out the Volunteer match and find organizations that are looking for help for different events. Anything Veteran-related has my heart.

My husband and I enjoy the local theatres and local sports (Hershey Bears and Harrisburg Senators) but disagree on NFL, mixed marriage of my Steelers and his Patriots. Usually 2 games a season we do not watch together! I like to cut up great pieces of fabric and then sew it all back together again and turn it into a quilt. I currently have about 13 projects bought, and many in different levels of completion. Maybe one day I will get caught up!  Looking forward to serving on the board as the Recording Secretary.
